It’ll be insane to finally see Angle lace up his boots in the WWE again, whether he can perform at a high level is yet to be seen.
Well what a crazy couple weeks in WWE. A viral outbreak of the mumps has caused massive changes to the card, it’s momentarily derailed the reunion of The Shield as well of the debut of Bray Wyatt’s alter ego, Sister Abigail. Wyatt has been replaced by the blue brands AJ Styles in a dream match with Finn Balor while Roman Reigns has been replaced by hall of famer and Raw GM, Kurt Angle. It’s already been one of the most unpredictable cards in years and not one I’m not all too impressed with if I’m being honest. Unless they drop some massive surprises on us and maybe add some stipulations to the matches, we could be looking at one of the worst cards of the year.
Sasha Banks vs Alicia Fox (Kick Off Show)
The WWE Universe hasn’t seen much of Banks and Fox as of late but this isn’t the first time they’ve clashed, most recently Fox attacked Banks after she lost to her on Raw. I have a feeling that Fox could cause the upset, possibly cutting corners and not winning clean, then she’ll get fed to Asuka.
- Liam’s Prediction: Alicia Fox Wins
- Ellis’ Prediction: Sasha Banks Wins
- Callum’s Prediction: Sasha Banks Wins
Brian Kendrick & Jack Gallagher vs Cedric Alexander & Rich Swann
A match that would be a filler of a match on Raw or something you’d see any week on 205 Live has managed to make it onto this PPV. The lineup is pretty short for this card so these guys might get a little bit more time on the big stage than usual which could be great fun. Everyone involved is an awesome worker and given some time and a decent story could put on a solid show whenever. It’ll be a classic heel vs face tag team match and I expect the obvious, unlike my buds predicting otherwise.
- Liam’s Prediction: Alexander & Swann Win
- Ellis’ Prediction: Kendrick & Gallagher Win
- Callum’s Prediction: Kendrick & Gallagher Win
Kalisto (C) vs Enzo Amore for the Cruiserweight Championship
This is another reason the Raw brand is all over the place at the moment, they’ve been giving the cruiserweight title a real push, the problem being Kalisto can’t cut a promo, Amore can’t wrestle, and it looks like Neville is gone for good. Expect Kalisto to carry Amore through a very ugly match, and expect Amore’s new cronies to get involved to try hide the fact that Amore cannot wrestle a good 10 minute match.
- Liam’s Prediction: Amore Wins
- Ellis’ Prediciton: Kalisto Wins
- Callum’s Prediction: Kalisto Wins
Finn Balor vs AJ Styles
So, erm, Wyatt, his partner Jo Jo, and his brother Bo Dallas have all disappeared from programming with what is believed to be the mumps. Demon Finn vs Sister Abigail will have to wait. Every cloud has a silver lining as we get to see Balor vs Styles instead. Styles is coming over from Smackdown to a Raw PPV, so it’s logical that Demon Balor wins, it extends his push and does little to hurt Styles with it being a one off. Either way, if they are given 20-30 minutes we could see one of the best wrestling matches of the year between to former Bullet Club members.
- Liam’s Prediction: Finn Balor Wins
- Ellis’ Prediction: Finn Balor Wins
- Callum’s Prediction: AJ Styles Wins
Asuka vs Emma
The most predictable part of the whole card is Asuka’s debut. Emma seems to be getting a bit of flack on the Raw brand for whatever reason, and as a result is constantly getting beat. She’s faced Asuka before in NXT so the chemistry will be there for a decent match, but anything other than Asuka squashing Emma in 5-10 minutes would be shocking in itself.
- Liam’s Prediction: Asuka Wins By Murder
- Ellis’ Prediction: Asuka Wins By Murder
- Callum’s Prediction: Asuka Wins By Murder
Alexa Bliss (C) vs Mickie James for the Women’s Championship
The buildup to this match has actually been surprisingly good. Bliss is gold, WWE need to use her to their advantage while she’s so hot with the crowd. The story line making out James to be old and past her best has been excellent, this will be one of the best matches of the night, but I expect Bliss to hold onto the belt until she drops it to Asuka, possibly at the Rumble in January.
- Liam’s Prediction: Alexa Bliss Wins
- Ellis’ Prediciton: Mickie James Wins
- Callum’s Prediction: Mickie James Wins
Kurt Angle, Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose vs The Bar, Braun Strowman, The Miz & Kane in a TLC match
This might be the weirdest main event of all time but boy am I hyped. Expect all sorts of destruction between the 8 men. It’ll be insane to finally see Angle lace up his boots in the WWE again, whether he can perform at a high level is yet to be seen, I think it’s likely he’ll work a lot with The Miz and Kane, the two safest workers. Between The Shield members, The Bar, and Strowman, we will see ridiculous spots that could make for a wild match. When it was Reigns and not Angle, I expected The Shield to win and over come a severe beatdown, but are they going to risk such big names like Strowman and The Miz losing to two solid workers and one part timer? Would WWE really make Angle lose in his return? I’m pretty much 50/50, but either way they are going to have some big problems story line wise after this hell of a match is over.
- Liam’s Prediction: The Bar, Strowman, The Miz & Kane Win
- Ellis’ Prediction: Angle, Rollins & Ambrose Win
- Callum’s Prediction: Angle, Rollins & Ambrose Win
