* About the Artist Maya

Maya Shadid, the creator of Viberant, is an artist with roots in the Middle East who has been a California resident since 2012. Her artistic journey began with a notable achievement at a young age, winning all competitions in her elementary school and achieving the top rank among all Jordanian universities in a 2011 art competition. Maya's passion extends across various artistic realms, including decorating, fashion design, accessories, fine arts, and digital design, all of which she formally studied by majoring in Art and Design.

Despite excelling in her art classes, Maya found dissatisfaction with the traditional teaching methods employed by her professors. The absence of instructional guidance, lack of books, and a reliance on still life drawing as the main way to learn art left her with a desire to reshape art education. Motivated by this discontent, Maya envisioned a future where she could share her knowledge and artistic insights, laying the foundation for Viberant.

In 2023, Maya decided to establish a business that expresses her taste and style, and then to create her own art curriculum. She finally stopped conforming to societal expectations because she had always felt different and didn’t fit in. Feeling like a generalist with many interests in a world full of specialists, she initially viewed it as a weakness not to focus on one thing. However, she came to realize that this aspect of her nature is actually a strength, particularly as an artist and designer. She believes that the more interests and ideas she has, the better, especially when used in designing products and creating art videos on social media. Her main goal today is to share her diverse artistic interests across products, art classes, and social media, influencing people to use art as a lifestyle and to embrace their true unique selves.
